The REvivED water project may be concluded, but this hasn't stopped it from impressing awards panels. On November 11th, 2020 project partners Phaesun were awarded the Solar Innovation of the Year award by the Africa Solar Industry Association (AFSIA) in a remote presentation that is available here, based on the work they conducted through the REvivED water project.

The fact that an award dedicated to solar powered innovations was presented for work revolving around desalination shows an important recognition of the value of the innovations developed in REvivED water. It is the truly significant potential impact of this technology that has seen the REvivED water partners continuing to work together after the project's conclusion to one day soon bring these solutions to the market and the people most in need of them.

In accepting the award, Géraldine Quelle described how Phaesun's goal has always been to bring electricity to areas with no reliable infrastructure. Said Quelle, "So the combination of off-grid solar energy and electrodialysis technology is perfect to provide clean drinking water." She also thanked the system development partners of Deukum, Fuji Film, the University of Ghent and the University of Palermo, and concluded with the expressed hope that "solar driven desalination systems will serve to offer even more humans with fresh and clean drinking water."
